Carol Lane
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF I.D.E
With over 35 years of coaching experience at the National, European, World and Olympic level, Carol has a lifetime love of the sport that will never be extinguished. Having developed many skaters from their earliest steps to international level, she loves the process of developing young athletes and watching them live their dreams. Carol’s love of music and movement has led her to develop specialties in the areas of program design, choreography, and technical skills. I.D.E was founded on Carol’s belief that strong individuals make strong teams, a philosophy that has enabled I.D.E to produce champions time and again. -
Jon Lane
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF I.D.E
Jon is a European and world medallist, and along with his partner Janet Sawbridge, helped Britain to a Grand Slam of medals at the world championships in Geneva in 1968. The same year he and Janet were selected to perform at the Olympic Games in Grenoble, where ice dancing was a demonstration sport , finally adopted as an Olympic sport in 1976. He was world professional ice dance champion in 1976, and has years of coaching experience at the National, European, World and Olympic level. Jon never met a key point he couldn’t wrestle to the floor, and loves to debate the finer points of technique, or as he calls it, “the angle of the dangle.” He has also become a master skate technician, and keeps everyone’s equipment in tip top order.

Juris Razgulajevs
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Choreographer, skating skill super heroJunior World ice dance champion in 1991, Olympic competitor in Lillehammer in 1994, Juris joined us at I.D.E in 1999, and when we saw him do crossrolls, we thought our lives were complete. This astonishingly talented skater has grown along with us to become a National, European, World and Olympic coach. Carol always says that he can read her mind, and the choreographic process they have built together seems truly magical to them both. Juris makes our daily core technical classes intricate and interesting with an apparently never-ending supply of exercises to improve our athletes.
